Presenter
Erik Metzger, Intel Architecture Patent Portfolio Manager. Erik Metzger holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Kansas and a law degree with an emphasis on intellectual property from Santa Clara University.  He began his career at Intel in 1994 as an engineer developing Intel microprocessors.  In 1999, he was invited to join Intel’s patent attorney training program, in which he received on-the-job training as a patent attorney while attending law school at night.  After passing the patent bar and California bar exams in 2003, he became an in-house patent attorney at Intel Corporation, where he currently manages the Intel microprocessor patent portfolio and helps to procure, license, and litigate Intel patents.
