With Akua Boyenne, Esq.

Licensing and selling films is a specialized business that requires knowledge of both distribution and market trends. Foreign sales agents specialize in selling and licensing film projects throughout the world- territory by territory. Established sales agents have excellent relationships with foreign distributors in key territories around the world. Film producers hire sales agents to take their film to international film markets to license or sell the film to distributors. The largest film markets are the Cannes Film Market (MIF), American Film Market (AFM) and European Film Market (EFM). In this introductory class, we will look at the various major film markets as well as how to negotiate a sales agent agreement.

This workshop is Part 3 of a four-part series on film distribution. Registration for all four workshops is encouraged but not required.
