Bankruptcy and Other Solutions for Artists and Arts Organizations

With Corey Carter, Esq.

The workshop will present, through story and example, the most popular chapters of bankruptcy, and some common scenarios artists and entertainers could (and often do) find themselves in.  The presentation will focus on the best way to protect your creative works when either you, an employer, or a shop selling your work on consignment file for bankruptcy protection.

Presenter:
Corey Carter is an attorney whose practice focuses on business formation and consumer bankruptcy law, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13. Mr. Carter is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Tax Court. He is a member of the Central District of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association (CDCBAA), California Lawyers for the Arts, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

These workshops are made possible, in part, from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission; The City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs; and the California Community Foundation.  Additional support provided by the California Arts Council.
