Intersections 2024
CLA presented its sixth annual bi-national symposium, INTERSECTIONS: Art and Law at the Border. With a focus on the unique geopolitical context of the San Diego-Tijuana region, named the 2024 Design Capital of the World, the symposium delves into the dynamic interplay between art, law, and design in the borderlands.
Through a series of panels, the symposium highlighted the collaborative efforts of designers, architects, artists, and community advocates working to unite two cities divided by a border wall. Presenters showcased urban and community projects that address pressing humanitarian challenges, offer innovative solutions for cross-border collaboration, and artistic adaptations that reshape the discourse surrounding borders.
