License agreements can arise in multimedia distribution agreements, website terms’ of use, publishing agreements of the written word, mobile distribution agreements, branding and merchandising deals and more.

Robert Preskill takes you on a tour of the legal catacombs of your content.  Better understand how your intellectual property rights can be sold, retained, optioned and generally what licensing is.  The goal is to better understand the common terms of a license in order to develop and understanding of which terms are significant deal points during the negotiation of your content license.
 
Robert Preskill is a transactional licensing, corporate, entertainment and media lawyer with extensive experience in rendering legal advice in the following industries: book publishing, feature and documentary films, television, and digital media. His clients include producers, financiers, distributors, directors, writers and performing and recording artists, as well as entrepreneurs, web producers, data licensors and certain content-related technology partners.  He additionally advises on franchise and licensing matters involving branding of retail and food concepts, design, merchandising, and distribution in fitness, fashion and leisure industries.
 
Robert’s practice has been featured in "California Lawyer" magazine. He has spoken at various writer’s retreats and publishing conferences, and has published in various legal journals.  He has represented, negotiated rights agreements for, and marketed, certain award winning and best selling authors of books, screenwriters and other writers.
