This workshop covers principals and tactics underlying two of the most important, though misunderstood components of a successful arts/entertainment career: networking (i.e. cultivating useful connections)  and negotiations (the process of securing favorable business terms). 

Concepts covered include: focusing expectations, undertaking advance preparations, cultivating effective skills and tactics, recognizing and avoiding common pratfalls and impasses" etc., with particular emphasis on the music, entertainment and media industries.


Jon L. Duman is a San Francisco Bay Area-based attorney whose media and entertainment law practice emphasizes music business transactional and arts-related intellectual property matters. Jon Duman represents numerous prominent musical performers and composers, providing counsel to members of such iconic groups as The Commodores, Tony! Toni! Toné!, Neil Young’s Crazy Horse, Dishwalla, E40's Click and the Bay Area’s Hieroglyphics Imperium.
