The Art of Deduction: Taxes for Artists and Creatives
THE FORUM: ART LAW Series
with T. Jesús Oba, EA, CPA

Major tax reforms went into effect in 2018, affecting individuals as well as their businesses. California Lawyers for the Arts and Vanguard Culture invite Artists and Creative Freelancers of all disciplines to join for a workshop on the essentials of income tax for individual artists. Topics will include record keeping, IRS form 1040, Schedule C, and self-employment schedules, itemized deductions, hobby losses, and home offices.

Speaker: T. JESÚS OBA, EA, CPA is an enrolled agent and CPA whom has his practice in downtown San Diego. He is president of the San Diego Chapter of CalCPA and focuses his practice on clients with international tax matters. When not in his office, he can be found taste testing Tijuana’s delicacies.
