About the Speakers

Jesse Morris, Esq. is the owner of the Los Angeles based music law firm, Morris Music Law, PC, where he primarily represents songwriters, artists, producers, managers, labels, publishers, and music-related tech companies. Jesse is also a musician and composer of music himself who has been in several rock acts. Jesse was a co-chair of the LA Chapter of the Copyright Society of the USA, and has spoken at events for UCLA, USC, the Association of Independent Music Publishers, California Lawyers for the Arts, Digital Entertainment World, and SXSX.

Jacob Abdo graduated summa cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a published article author and the Executive Editor of the school’s Law Review. Prior to law school, Jacob was a full-time performing, writing, and recording musician in the band Lynhurst. He performed over 300 shows in 27 states and released four albums. Jacob has published on Entertainment Law related topics including “What You Need to Know About the Music Modernization Act” in The Entertainment and Sports Lawyer. Jacob was recently hired by Morris Music Law, PC.
