  • An Introduction to Intellectual Property, Copyright, and Licensing  for Freelancers and Creatives
  • Intellectual property licenses are essential components of creative businesses in a variety of industries, including film, music and visual arts. Join California Lawyers for the Arts San Diego and attorney Kevin Patariu, P.E of Perkins Coie to learn about the basics of licensing intellectual property and copyright. What does it mean to license intellectual property? When is a license necessary? What are the key components of a licensing agreement? What are the different issues that are important for licensors versus those that are important for licensees? This program will touch on intellectual property licenses, and copyright in a variety of contexts and situations. Bring your colleagues and your questions!

Speaker: Kevin Patariu is a partner with the Perkins Coie Intellectual Property Group. Kevin litigates complex intellectual property matters throughout the United States and before the International Trade Commission (ITC), where he has successfully litigated several Section 337 investigations through trial.
