2023 Employment Law Updates for the Non-Profit and Private Sector

This webinar will cover important employment law topics including independent contractors, wage and hour laws, avoiding discrimination and increasing equity in the workplace, sick leave, and benefits and accommodations. We will also review the areas of most risk to California employers and how ensuring compliance with employment laws can strengthen your organization. Topics covered are applicable to both nonprofit and for-profit entities as they have most of the same legal requirements.

Non-profit arts administrators and human resources personnel are encouraged to attend to ensure your company policies are all up to date!

Eligible for 1.5 hours of MCLE credit which can be added to the cost of registration upon check out. The cost for MCLE is an additional $45

About our Speaker:

Arlene Yang is a Principal in the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Meyers Nave. Based in San Diego, she focuses her practice on internal investigations, employment counseling, and litigation. She is a trusted advisor to employers on all aspects of employment law, including wage and hour matters, leave issues, reasonable accommodations, employment policies and COVID-19 policies. She also specializes in litigation in state and federal court and proceedings before administrative agencies. Arlene is an experienced presenter on current employment laws and issues relating to COVID-19, discrimination, and harassment. Arlene is a past chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.


Corrin Phillip is a Senior Associate in the Labor and Employment and Workplace Investigations Practice Groups. Corrin provides private, public, and non-profit employers with a comprehensive range of employment law advice and counsel including internal investigations, compliance, and litigation. Corrin advises clients on a wide range of employment law matters in state and federal court, which include discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, harassment and wage and hour disputes.
