About our Speaker:
Ben counsels his clients through all stages of intellectual property development, including strategy, patent preparation, patent prosecution, and patentability. He also frequently advises parties seeking and providing open source licensing. His clients include a diverse portfolio of Fortune 100 companies, startups, and solo inventors.
Ben's patent work covers a range of technology issues. He writes and prosecutes patent applications in computer software fields such as cryptography, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, and image processing. He also regularly prepares and prosecutes patent applications regarding semiconductor devices, applied sciences, material science, medical devices, telecommunications, power management, sensors, computer hardware, and a wide range of other technologies.
Along with managing the firm's patent pro bono work, Ben is a member of the steering committee for the California Inventors Assistance Program (CIAP) as well as a member of the board of directors for California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA), which administers the CIAP.
