Relax with Tax for Artists and Creative Freelancers!

with Jeffrey Thompson, Enrolled Agent (E.A.)

It's our annual tax season seminar for creative freelancers! Learn how to efficiently track income and expenses throughout the year, and don't miss the deductions you can make as a self-employed creative. Topics will include record keeping, form 1040, form 1099, Schedule C, the self-employment schedule, deductions, hobby losses, home offices, and more.

A comprehensive e-book, "The Art of Deduction," is included with the admission fee.

Jeff Thompson, MA, MBA, EA, is an actor, writer, magician, and tax professional from Los Angeles. In addition to filing taxes for almost 400 clients each year, he serves as an artistic director for Impro Theatre, teaches at the  Westside Comedy Theater, and serves on the board of The Ruby LA and The Improv Network. He has also previously taught psychology at Citrus College and given lectures to artists at CalArts and for the City of Santa Clara.

These workshops are made possible, in part, from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles Department of Arts and Culture; The City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs; and the California Community Foundation.  Additional support provided by the California Arts Council.
