The film industry can be confusing but we are here to help you navigate it! If you are a filmmaker or work in films, we are hosting a Filmmakers Legal Clinic where you will be able to talk to an attorney concerning your legal questions relating to film. This clinic will take place over the phone so you can have your consultation in the comforts of your own home. Examples of questions include: "Should I register a trademark for my film?" "Is a copyright registration necessary before I work with other people?" or "I have an idea, but it involves telling the story of a real person, whose permission do I need?" These types of questions and more are all welcome!

As a participant, you will be scheduled for a 20 - 30 minute consultation on December 5, 2024.

Time: You will be assigned a 20-30 minute time between the hours of 5PM to 7PM PST on December 5, 2024. At that time, an attorney will be arranged to call you.

Cost: $20 for nonmembers; $10 for members.

TIMELINE (It's as easy as 1-2-3! Register, Confirm, Consult!: 

1) Register by 5PM PST on November 27, 2024. The earlier you register, the better as slots do fill up and registration may close early if all the slots are taken! 

2) Once you have registered, one of our representatives will call you to CONFIRM your 20-30 minute session and ask you questions concerning your film-related issue. This step must be completed by 5PM PST on November 27, 2024. You will only be able to participate after you are confirmed over the phone. We will call you multiple times and you are also welcome to send an email to schedule an appointed time for your confirmation. We will not be accepting any registrations after November 27, 2024.

3) After your call with our representatives, you are confirmed! You will then receive an email a day before the clinic (December 4, 2024) with your scheduled time.
